Combination brings full-service offerings to 23 markets across the U.S.
Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce its official combination with Pahl & McCay, a full-service, 15-lawyer corporate, business, and litigation firm with offices in both Northern and Southern California, effective Oct. 1, 2023.
The combination is designed to provide both firms’ clients with deeper access to talented professionals who are not only aligned in their approach to serving as a resource to businesses across new geographies and practice areas, but also in their commitment to culture, collaboration, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Spencer Fane’s simultaneous entry into San Jose (Silicon Valley) and Santa Monica (Los Angeles) extends the firm’s geographic reach to 23 offices across a national footprint. Recognized as one of the fastest growing law firms in the Am Law 200, Spencer Fane’s measured growth brings its attorney count to 450 firm wide.
“Since our firm was founded 34 years ago by Stephen Pahl, it has been a proud member of the California business community, and it’s our interest in continuing to be a valued resource to our clients that motivates this combination,” said Karen K. McCay, who will serve as Office Managing Partner in California. “In fact, our primary motivation in combining with Spencer Fane is to provide our clients with access to a deeper bench of talent and a nationwide platform to serve their legal needs in new geographies and service areas. As for our choice to join Spencer Fane, we could not pass up the opportunity to combine with the firm when we realized our shared commitment to client service and how our firms mirror one another culturally.”
