Spencer Fane was proud to sponsor the 2025 DRI Employment and Labor Law Seminar on May 7-9 in Nashville, Tennessee. Attorney Helen Holden, who also serves as Chair of DRI’s Employment and Labor Law Committee, presented at the event.
The annual Employment and Labor Law Seminar is a premier gathering that provides educational programming and networking opportunities to top-tier management-side employment and labor attorneys, in-house counsel, human resources professionals, and employment practices liability insurance representatives from across the U.S. and Canada. At this year’s event, Helen co-led the session, You Picked a Fine Time to Leave Me: Keeping Up with Best Practices for Paid and Unpaid Leave. The presentation provided guidance for employers navigating employee leave management. Providing both in-house and outside counsel viewpoints, the session explored leaves under the Family and Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA), leave as a reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), leaves under mandatory paid sick leave statutes, leaves under state paid leave programs, and more.
Additionally, Spencer Fane hosted a DRI Cares community service project organized by Bethany Stewart at the firm’s Nashville office. Participating conference attendees joined Bethany, Helen, Jen Coleman, Sam Jackson, Casey Murray, Servando Sandoval, Rob Warzel, Kristen Walker, and Randi Winter to assemble hygiene kits for the Community Resource Center of Nashville, an organization that provides critical essential items to the most vulnerable Middle Tennessee populations.
Attorneys Laura Alaniz, Jeremy Brenner, James Crumlin, Beth Nillen, Kunal Shah, and Tamara Waters also attended this year’s DRI Employment and Labor Law Seminar.
