Spencer Fane is pleased to announce that Scot Seabaugh has joined the firm’s Financial Services Practice Group as Partner, bringing with him more than 30 years’ experience.
Scot joins the firm from Polsinelli PC after nearly 15 years serving on its financial services group representing regional and community banks throughout the St. Louis area. He is widely known throughout the Missouri banking community, and clients trust his depth of experience and tactic understanding of the banking industry and related financial services.
“Banking is in my blood. Both my grandfathers were actively involved and invested in two competing banks in my parents’ hometown,” said Scot Seabaugh. “I learned about banking from the ground up. I sorted checks, ran credit checks and worked the teller’s window. I did whatever needed to be done.”
Clients rely upon Scot for representation in capital markets, real estate and commercial lending, asset-based lending, loan enforcement, creditor’s rights, banking and regulatory matters, equipment lending and all banking and financial related matters.
“Scot’s depth of experience and breadth of knowledge in banking and financial services will be a tremendous asset to our firm and our clients,” said Frank Neuner, Managing Partner at the Spencer Fane St. Louis office. “We have long respected his work – as have all in the Missouri banking community – and we are delighted to have him join our ranks.”
Scot has been widely recognized for his work, including being named to The Best Lawyers in America in Banking and Finance Law and Financial Services Regulation Law every year since 2013.
Scot earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri and went on to graduate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1984. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association and the Illinois Bar Association, admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court of Eastern District of Missouri.
