Theresa Becerra Continues to Uplift Students Through UCLA Latino Alumni Association

January 23, 2024

Spencer Fane attorney Theresa Becerra helped organize and attended multiple events for the UCLA Latino Alumni Association (ULAA) last November as part of her ongoing involvement with the university organization.

As Chair of the ULAA Scholarship Committee, Theresa helped host the November 16 Gracias Gathering at the UCLA James West Alumni Center. This annual event not only celebrates scholarship fund donors but also provides an opportunity for ULAA scholarship recipients to reconnect as alumni and discuss the impact of the donors’ generosity. This year’s event included a special City of Los Angeles Proclamation for Miami Heat player and UCLA alumni Jaime Jaquez, who helped the ULAA raise more than $250,000 in scholarship funds.

Theresa and the ULAA also held a November 29 luncheon for the latest scholarship recipients. Earlier this year, she also attended the Latinx Welcome and OrgullOSO Mentorship Program Reception events, which likewise served to help Latino students build their network and invest in their futures.

At Spencer Fane, Theresa brings almost 25 years of experience to her successful law practice. She specializes in conventional and affordable housing counseling, administrative actions, commercial construction counseling, and litigation, including complex business litigation such as consumer class action defense, issues arising from claims of unfair competition, unfair business practices, interference with contract and other business torts, and breach of fiduciary duty.

Theresa is also passionate about community stewardship. In addition to her involvement with UCLA, she takes part in organizations that include Project Angel Food, Operation Gratitude, and the Judicial Appointments Committee for the Los Angeles County Bar.
