Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Michael Bondi joined the Intellectual Property practice group as a partner in the firm’s Minneapolis office.
With extensive trademark and patent management experience across a broad range of industries, Bondi focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent and trademark applications to maximize both the short and long-term value of his clients’ products that are sourced overseas for sale through big-box retailers, leveraging his international experience through strong relationships with law firms in countries including China, Hong Kong, Israel, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom, among others.
Michael regularly works with both large entities that have complex multinational trademark and patent portfolios, smaller companies, and individuals in the early stages of trademarks and patent applications. Specifically, he brings notable experience in patents with medical devices, plastic formulation and processing, food processing and packaging, agricultural fertilizers and feed, laser processing devices, and sporting equipment.
Additionally, Michael advises both U.S.-based and international clients on internet-related issues, including the registration and transfer of domain names and resolution of domain name ownership disputes.
“Michael brings both an exemplary track record and reputation in IP law but also a practical educational and professional background in chemical engineering,” said Donald G. Heeman, Office Managing Partner for Spencer Fane in Minneapolis. “Our firm remains committed to helping clients translate their creativity into marketable products and services, and that begins with a true understanding of often complex and innovative businesses in emerging industries. Adding Michael to our bench reinforces and enhances this intentional focus and provides an additional collaborative resource for us to utilize.”
Michael completed his undergraduate studies in chemical engineering at the University of Illinois and later earned his Juris Doctor at the John Marshall Law School, now known as the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law.
