Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to welcome Mallory J. Craig to the firm’s Denver office as an of counsel attorney in the Special Districts practice group.
Mallory counsels clients in the creation and administration of special purpose districts, specifically focusing her practice on representing real estate developers in both commercial and residential development. She specializes in the use of special purpose districts to finance development, including municipal utility districts, water control and improvement districts, fresh water supply districts, and public improvement districts.
A former Texas resident, Mallory has represented clients before The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and The Texas Legislature as well as cities, counties, and various regional service providers. As she shifts her practice to Denver, she joins a talented team of attorneys not only pivotal to the origination of Colorado’s Special District Association but who have represented more than 600 special districts in Colorado, notably within many economically thriving areas of Metro Denver.
“Over more than four decades, our Denver-based Special Districts practice group has worked on and assisted clients with a multitude of multimillion-dollar development projects throughout the state, with such projects resulting in critical infrastructure and services for the citizens of Colorado,” said Ron Fano, Office Managing Partner for Spencer Fane in Denver. “We are really looking forward to adding an accomplished attorney like Mallory with a different perspective gained during her long-term development and district work in Texas. She will be an exceptional addition to our team.”
After obtaining her bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, Mallory earned her Juris Doctor from Syracuse University, then went on to acquire her Master of Laws from the University of Houston. With an early interest in disability rights law, she previously served as an intern at the Disability Law Center of Massachusetts, a student attorney at the Disability Rights Center at Syracuse, and a volunteer attorney at Disability Rights Texas.
Mallory has practiced at the intersection of special districts, public finance, and government relations for the past decade.
