Spencer Fane is pleased to announce lobbyist Michael Warner has joined the Austin office to lead the firm’s Texas Governmental Affairs Group.
Mike brings more than 25 years’ experience in government affairs representing a diverse group of clients from both the public and private sectors. He has represented both public and private entities in matters before city councils, state legislatures and the U.S. Congress.
His success and credibility is based upon his in depth involvement in the development of public policy for and with members of both political parties beginning with his days as a member of the Texas Legislative Staff, which has placed him in an excellent position to be a credible resource for his clients when they are faced with legislative issues that impact their business.
Most recently, Mike served as Principal at Warner Seale Public Affairs, working with policymakers, industry experts, professional associations, and political leaders in the pursuit of positive legislative change for his clients in multiple states and at the federal level.

Locally, Mike is a past chair of the Water and Wastewater Commission for the City of Austin, formerly a commissioner on the Electric Utility Commission for the City of Austin, and a former board member of American Gateways.
Mike received his Bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his law degree at Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.
