Spencer Fane attorney Linda Knight joined a panel to discuss parametric insurance at the Federation of Defense & Corporate Legal Counsel (FDCC) 2022 Insurance Industry Institute (I-3) on November 11 in New York.
The panel, Parametric Insurance: What You Need to Know, defined parametric insurance as insuring a policyholder against a specific event by paying a set amount based on the magnitude rather than the losses, outlined current coverage offerings, and reviewed the market’s departure from traditional claims adjusting. The presentation also assessed the market’s current and future demand for parametric insurance
Linda was joined by fellow insurance industry leaders Stephen Carter, Carter Perry Bailey LLP; James Doona, Munich Re Capital Markets; and W. Jean Kwon, Greenberg School of Risk Management – St. John’s University. Their panel was part of the FDCC’s I-3, an interactive program designed to give in-person attendees an in-depth look at current and future insurance market drivers.
