Spencer Fane attorneys Theresa Becerra (Santa Monica), Norma Izzo (Phoenix), Ayesha Mehdi (Las Vegas), Tracey Wallace (Dallas), and DeAndrea Washington (Houston) recently attended the Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys’ (LIWOCA) 2024 Conference April 24-25 in Atlanta. The firm also served as a sponsor for this inclusive-focused event.
The 2024 conference focused on topics like AI in law, affirmative action and DEI, business development, and building bridges. The LIWOCA mission is to help women of color attorneys in law firms and legal departments develop the critical skills necessary to become partners and leaders in the legal profession, assist law firms and legal departments to retain and promote women of color attorneys, and continue to fuel the pipeline by offering scholarships to women of color attorneys.
Spencer Fane believes the more diverse, equitable, and inclusive we are, the better equipped we become to rise above challenges and add new, creative, and fresh perspectives to the problems we solve. The important work to advance DEI at Spencer Fane is a shared passion. The firm’s mission is to build, maintain, and leverage a diverse and inclusive law firm that strengthens our clients and communities.
