Whether you binge watched Yellowstone or not, this presentation is for anyone interested in learning more about a government’s ability to take private property for public use. No knowledge of Jamie’s complicated relationship with John, Beth’s aggressive tactics, or Casey’s trauma needed! Eminent domain practitioners from multiple states will discuss the various statements made about eminent domain in the hit show Yellowstone, and explain which statements are grounded in reality and which ones just make for good TV. This session addresses the general concept of eminent domain and hit on some state-specific issues from the show under multiple state laws including Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri, Kansas, and Arizona.
