Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce that Taylor Denison has joined the firm’s utilities industry team as an associate in the firm’s Austin office.
Taylor joins the team led by partners Cathy Webking and Cody Faulk with an emphasis on the utilities industry, which focuses on counseling participants in successful pursuits within a competitive market facing increased regulatory and compliance demands. Taylor regularly represents investor and municipally owned utility clients before the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), Railroad Commission of Texas, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the State Office of Administrative Hearings.
Taylor will bring to her private practice at Spencer Fane significant experience as a former attorney for the PUCT. Her duties there included representing PUCT staff in contested case matters, including electric, water, and sewer utility rate cases; certificate of convenience and necessity proceedings; dual certification proceedings; and sale, transfer, and merger proceedings. In recent years, Taylor has represented a number of market participants and regulated entities providing electric, water, and sewer services to Texans.

Taylor is an active member of the Public Utility Law and Administrative and Public Law sections of the State Bar of Texas. She completed her undergraduate studies in corporate communications at the University of Texas and later earned her Juris Doctor from Texas A&M University School of Law.
