Matthew Cavanaugh

Overview
Matthew Cavanaugh focuses his practice on addressing the full range of litigation risks businesses of all types might encounter in the course of normal operations or due to unforeseen and complicated circumstances. He provides thoughtful and aggressive advocacy to achieve favorable outcomes in state and federal courts, as well as pursuing alternative dispute resolution when beneficial. This includes an intentional focus on strategies to win or favorably resolve disputes while avoiding potentially lengthy and expensive litigation proceedings.
In addition to his legal work, Matthew brings a beneficial background in health care work. He previously spent time in clinical research on complex trials at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he worked with both regulators and the private sector. During law school, he worked in research for the Public Health Law Center in St. Paul.
Matthew obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Maine and later went through a post-baccalaureate health careers program at Harvard Extension School. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School.
