Andrew VanSlyke provides comprehensive real estate legal services to a diverse clientele including individuals, corporations, developers, builders, property owners, and financial institutions. Through his private practice, he takes a collaborative approach to managing all aspects of real estate transactions, ensuring that projects and deals of every scale remain on track and within budget while addressing all related legal complexities.
Andrew’s experience in California landlord and tenant law allows him to effectively represent commercial and residential landlords and tenants in the negotiation and preparation of leases, repayment agreements, cash-for-keys agreements, and resolution of disputes. He has significant experience representing multifamily owners and managers in legal proceedings, including evictions and breach of contract claims, as well as in Fair Housing investigations brought by the U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD). He also provides insightful counsel in matters relating to fair housing and reasonable accommodations.
Andrew has considerable experience representing multifamily owners in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of multifamily projects and negotiation of contracts with vendors for those projects. His extensive knowledge of state and federal laws such as the Violence Against Women Act, rent stabilization and just cause ordinances, as they relate to the operation of multifamily projects, provides him with unique insights in protecting his clients’ interests.
