Overview
Alexander Baker defends clients in high-stakes regulatory enforcement, white collar criminal matters, and government investigations, moving quickly and decisively to neutralize inquiries and mitigate exposure before they ever become public.
Known for an aggressive, proactive posture – especially when litigation is inevitable – Alex brings a distinct edge to the courtroom, drawing on two federal clerkships (in the Western District of Washington and for the Chief Judge of the District of Idaho) to deliver unyielding representation. He routinely represents corporate entities, investment advisers, broker-dealers, and trading platforms before federal regulators such as the SEC or CFTC, as well as self-regulatory organizations, including FINRA, across enforcement proceedings, parallel litigation, and internal investigations.
As co-leader of the firm’s Social Media Influencer Market Team, Alex guides digital media talent, enterprise creators, and brand partners through high-stakes complex litigation, in addition to regulatory enforcement and compliance matters before federal agencies including the FTC and SEC. He represents clients in investigations focused on sponsorship disclosures, financial promotions, and consumer protection mandates while handling high-exposure commercial and IP disputes. He also actively publishes thought leadership on the evolving privatization and financing of collegiate athletics.

- Represented the SEC-appointed receiver in a worldwide Ponzi scheme.
