New Firm Partner Scott Rhodes Talks Appeal of Spencer Fane in Phoenix Business Journal

April 26, 2023

Spencer Fane attorney Scott Rhodes discussed his recent move to the firm in a feature article published by the Phoenix Business Journal.

In the article, High-Profile Arizona Ethics Attorney Leaves Jennings Strouss to Join Spencer Fane, Scott spoke with PBJ Editor in Chief Greg Barr about the “strong connection” he felt when he entered discussions with Chair Pat Whalen.

“Coming into the Phoenix market isn’t an easy thing to do,” Scott shared about what drew him to Spencer Fane. “But I was impressed that [the firm] came in and were taking their time and slowly bringing in high-quality lawyers. It was obvious that they had a plan to be good, as opposed to just adding people quickly for growth.”

Office Managing Partner David Funkhouser also opined about the Phoenix office’s continuous evolution. He noted that the “ability to bring on a titan of the Phoenix and Arizona bar [like Scott] to add to the depth of our other recent hires puts us in a good position for even more growth.”

At Spencer Fane, Scott provides trusted counsel to attorneys, law firms, legal departments, in-house counsel, and government agencies on highly sensitive ethical, professional responsibility, and business matters to identify and address any legal issues related to corporate policy and conduct. With an extensive and distinguished background in legal ethics, Scott regularly advises clients in matters relating to state bar complaints, fee disputes and arbitrations, disciplinary matters, bar admission, and other licensing, ethics, and professional responsibility issues.
