Following her 2023 Women’s Justice Award (WJA) honor, Spencer Fane attorney Jessie Merrigan was featured in a special May issue of Missouri Lawyers Media (MLM). She is one of four firm attorneys to earn this recognition this year.
In celebration of the WJA program’s 25th anniversary, Jessie and her fellow honorees were each profiled under their respective categories. MLM spotlighted Jessie as a Litigation Practitioner Award recipient, provided highlights of her career accomplishments, and featured the perspective of Jessie herself.
“I like my area of practice because I feel I can serve a role as a translator and problem-solver,” Jessie shared.
WJA honorees are recognized for their “professional excellence in Missouri’s courtrooms and boardrooms.” Spencer Fane is the only firm with more than three honorees this year. Attorneys Elizabeth Felker, Stacy Harper, and Charli Steed are also 2023 WJA recipients.
At Spencer Fane, Jessie co-chairs the Environment and Energy Practice Group. She counsels clients on environmental matters regarding regulatory requirements and represents them in litigation of environmental claims, including contribution claims under the federal Superfund law.
