Thomas Hiatt and Richard Walters Make Appearance on Missouri Lawyers Media POWER List

July 11, 2025

Spencer Fane attorneys Thomas Hiatt and Richard Walters have been selected to Missouri Lawyers Media’s 2025 POWER List for Commercial Real Estate.

The POWER List is a regular MLM feature that honors “the power brokers who lead and influence various parts of the Missouri legal community.” Based on a selection process that “interviews respected attorneys and leaders around the state, reviews outcomes of myriad significant cases and state records, and consults the archives of Missouri Lawyers Media,” the list identifies the most powerful Missouri lawyers in their respective categories. This is the first year for the commercial real estate POWER list.

Thomas and Richard are recognized by the publication as two of the 30 most powerful commercial real estate attorneys in the region. Missouri Lawyers Media stated, “Successful commercial real estate attorneys understand the ins and outs of complicated transactions that could leave even the savviest of entrepreneurs frazzled. Missouri abounds with these experienced attorneys whose real estate chops have resulted in multimillion-dollar developments throughout the state.”

At Spencer Fane, Thomas is a trial attorney who helps businesses in all aspects of litigation including consulting pre-lawsuit, conducting and managing e-discovery, engaging in motion practice, and trying cases to verdict. He has experience in construction defect and payment disputes, antitrust litigation, collection work, and financial services litigation involving fraudulent transfer and piercing the corporate veil theories.

Richard’s national practice focuses on real estate development, finance, and construction, including the use of financial incentives, tax credits, and private equity for commercial real estate developments and housing projects.
