Spencer Fane attorneys Eric Johnson, Nate Orr, and Ruthie White recently presented at The Missouri Bar’s 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting, covering corporate formation issues, employment issues, intellectual property, various corporate topics, bankruptcy, and succession planning.
Eric and Nate were moderators in a three-part presentation series, and Ruthie was a panelist during the Part I and Part II sessions. The series reenacted a hypothetical business owner seeking advice at the various stages of the company’s life cycle, including start-up, maturity, succession, wind-down, and bankruptcy.
The three sessions are titled:
- Life Span of a Business, Part I: Startup – Raising Capital, IP/Licensing, Employment Issues, Equipment Purchase/Asset Purchase
- Life Span of a Business, Part II: Mature Mid-Cycle Growth – Corporate Issues, Employment and Real Estate, Growth/Market Change, Financial Issues, DEI and Culture
- Life Span of a Business, Part III: End Cycle – Bankruptcy, Succession, Business Sale, Family Key Person Issues, Estate Planning
