Spencer Fane attorney Stephen Zralek was a recent guest on IADC Speaks, the official podcast of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC), ahead of the organization’s annual Midyear Meeting on February 9-14 in Dana Point, California.
In spring 2024, Stephen was appointed Chair of the event’s CLE Steering Committee and has since played an instrumental role in creating this year’s schedule of premier programming. On the podcast episode, he joined host Rebecca Weinstein Bacon and Convention Chair Chris Drewry to provide a day-by-day preview of the Meeting, highlighting the top educational sessions and exciting social events.
Stephen spoke to the value of the conference overall: “every time I go, I come away recharged because I’m surrounded by other people who love practicing law. And there’s a lot of people who don’t, but IADC members by and large really do, and I think it’s great for our mental health, families, and practices.”
Among other sessions Stephen highlighted, he previewed a panel featuring fellow Spencer Fane partner Kersten Holzhueter, who “will be speaking from the perspective of a younger partner in a law firm, how she’s made the most of the opportunities.” “I think [that panel is] going to help all of us when we think about how we retain and attract top talent.”
