Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Chris Harris has joined the Tax, Trusts, & Estates practice group as of counsel in the firm’s Dallas office.
Harris helps clients minimize their income tax liability, with a specific focus on structuring and negotiating business transactions in the real estate, oil and gas, health care, and private equity industries. He advises a variety of clients on how to secure the future of their commercial enterprise, non-profit organization, or personal legacy through efficient tax structures.
Harris uses his passion and skill to maximize financial returns for domestic or cross-border clients without losing sight of business and operational needs. In addition to structuring and negotiating business transactions, his wide-ranging experience includes partnership and corporate tax planning in connection with fund formation and operations, drafting LLC and partnership agreements, corporate governance, structuring tax-efficient debt workouts, cross-border transactions, and deferred compensation plans.
Harris is Board Certified in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He brings a unique blend of instinct, creativity, and energy to his practice and a keen interest in the ways tax law drives individual decision-making and the economy, shaping his reputation as an insightful and efficient attorney.

Harris received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University and later earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law and his Master of Laws from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law.
