Spencer Fane Participates in Nashville Minority Job Fair

March 13, 2024

Spencer Fane was pleased to be a participating employer for the annual Damali Booker 1L Minority Job Fair on January 27 in Nashville. Attorneys Andrea Perry, Chris Raybeck, and Bethany Vanhooser represented the firm at the event.

Hosted by the Nashville Bar Association Diversity Committee, the 1L Job Fair provides summer clerkship opportunities for diverse law school students in their first year of study. In 2003, the event was named in honor of Damali Booker, who passed away unexpectedly before graduating and starting her position with an employer she originally met at the job fair. Since then, the event has continued to honor Damali’s memory by helping launch the careers of diverse law students in the Nashville legal market.

The Damali Booker project is just one of the regional diversity job fairs in which Spencer Fane participates. The firm actively seeks to recruit and retain exceptional individuals with diverse characteristics and backgrounds. Spencer Fane promotes equal opportunity at law schools as part of the firm’s on-campus recruiting and actively encourages the referral of qualified minority candidates. This recruitment strategy is one of the many ways Spencer Fane upholds its key DEI principles to build, maintain, and leverage a diverse and inclusive law firm that strengthens the firm’s clients and communities.
