The Spencer Fane Nashville office was honored to launch the 2024 Equal Chance for Education (ECE) Summer Mentoring Series on June 18. Attorneys Charles W. Bone, James Crumlin, Stacey Garrett Koju, Andrea Perry, and Bethany Vanhooser participated in a panel discussion and luncheon for ECE’s current scholar class. Stacey served as Nashville Office host for this event.
Nashville Office Managing Partner, and Charles W. Bone’s son, Charles Robert Bone serves on the Board of Directors for ECE, a scholarship program that provides higher education opportunities to first-generation immigrant students living in Tennessee regardless of race, religion, or nation of birth. In the decade since its founding, ECE has partnered with 15 colleges and universities statewide, supporting nearly 600 scholars.
Based on evidence that coaching increases students’ chances for success, mentorship is a key component of the organization’s program and comprises one-on-one support and group discussions with local business professionals. At the firm’s session, the Spencer Fane team outlined the legal profession, discussed potential career paths, and provided tips for building a presence in the job market.
