January 30, 2020

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce the addition of associate Serena O’Neil in the firm’s Minneapolis office, where she will join a growing Tax, Trusts, & Estates practice group.

O’Neil brings significant experience in providing support and effective legal representation for clients in estate planning and administration, and estate disputes and litigation. Her clients have included individuals, beneficiaries, personal representatives, trustees, conservators, guardians, creditors, and for-profit and nonprofit businesses.

“Spencer Fane continues to grow in a manner aligned with the needs of our clients,” said Don Heeman, office managing partner in Minneapolis. “We remain committed to a high level of services while handling our clients’ most difficult and often complex problems. Serena will be an asset in our trusts and estates work.”

In her practice, O’Neil helps clients plan for the future by developing estate plans tailored to meet the unique goals of her clients and effectively transfer wealth to the next generation. She can also guide clients through probate and trust administration, helping to manage deadlines and resolve disputes involving beneficiaries, creditors and other stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner.

O’Neil also commits a significant portion of her time to pro bono work for underprivileged individuals in need of legal service through her volunteer work with Volunteer Lawyers Network. Prior to entering private practice, she completed her undergraduate studies at Wartburg College, and she earned her Juris Doctor from the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
