Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce the addition of associate attorney Maureen H. Cook to the Tax, Trusts, & Estates Practice Group in the firm’s Denver office.
Cook handles aspects of trust and estate matters, including probate, trust administration, and probate litigation. Her experience encompasses creating simple and complex wills and trusts, financial power of attorney documents, and advanced medical directives.
Prior to pursuing a career as an attorney, Cook built significant experience as a business manager, which informs her unique ability to understand the needs of individuals, families and companies, and organizations of all sizes.
“Succession planning and finding tax-advantaged methods to protect assets now and in the future remains a priority for many of our clients,” said Ron Fano, Office Managing Partner for Spencer Fane in Denver. “Our firm remains committed to understanding and meeting these needs with talented and knowledgeable counsel. Maureen is an experienced attorney who will be a very valuable asset to our clients in this regard and a very welcomed addition to our firm.”
Cook completed her undergraduate studies in business administration at Creighton University and later earned her Juris Doctor from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. While in law school, she completed internships focused on civil litigation and government representation in addition to later serving as a judicial law clerk in Colorado’s 1st Judicial District. She has been admitted to the Order of Barristers, a national honorary organization for excellence in brief writing and oral advocacy.
