Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Gerald F. Ehrlich to the Business Transactions practice group as of counsel in the firm’s Phoenix office.
Ehrlich has practiced law in Arizona since 1982 and has developed a strong track record of success in providing businesses of all sizes with responsive day-to-day legal advice on all aspects of corporate operations critical to success. He counsels individual and business clients in the areas of corporate and business transactions, federal income taxation, trusts and estates as well as real estate acquisition, sale and finance.
After graduating from Rutgers University School of Law, he was commissioned in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, and while serving on active duty in the Washington D.C., area, obtained an LLM in Tax Law from Georgetown University.
In addition, Ehrlich has been certified as a specialist in tax law by the State Bar of Arizona Board of Legal Specialization for over 35 years.

After serving active military duty for three years, Ehrlich moved to Arizona and started his private practice, but he also served 27 years in the United States Army Reserve in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps with various assignments in Arizona and California and overseas tours in Japan and Germany. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 2009 with the rank of Colonel.
In addition to being a member of the Trust and Estate, Tax, and Business Law Sections of the Arizona State Bar, Ehrlich has been an active member of the Central Arizona Estate Planning Council for over 25 years, having previously served on its board of directors for three years.
