Spencer Fane Adds Freeman as Associate in Cape Girardeau Office

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Ross Freeman in the firm’s Cape Girardeau office. He is an associate in the Litigation practice group.

Freeman becomes the fourth Spencer Fane attorney in the office and, as a Cape Girardeau native, continues a tradition of hiring individuals with a connection to the region. His practice focuses on general commercial litigation and business law. Prior to entering private practice, he served a stint as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Stephen N. Limbaugh in the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Missouri.

“Ross understands the needs of our clients in this area,” said Mike Murphy, Spencer Fane office managing partner. “We are excited for the opportunity to add a talented attorney who can help maintain our commitment to an elite level of client service by knowing the business and being responsive to the most important legal matters for our clients.”

Freeman was born in Cape Girardeau and graduated from Cape Central High School. He completed his undergraduate education at Southeast Missouri State in his hometown before going on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law. He graduated cum laude from Missouri and was initiated into the Order of the Coif — a designation for those graduating in the top 10% of a law school class.

Currently, Freeman is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois, along with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. He a member of the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce and provides pro bono legal services for a local education nonprofit organization that works with at-risk youth.
