Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Elizabeth E.L. Isaac joined the firm’s Oklahoma City office as an of counsel attorney in the Intellectual Property (IP) practice group.
Elizabeth helps businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists assess and protect their inventions and creative works and ideas to leverage IP portfolios and enhance business opportunities. She strategically counsels clients on due diligence, patents, trademarks, copyrights, entertainment law, and internet law, as well as licensing, transactional, and other litigation matters.
“Liz’s track record of success as an intellectual property attorney and regional leader in her niche has generated a deserved reputation for exceptional client service. This deeply aligns with the thoughtful advocacy seen not only across our firm, but also specifically within our diverse IP work,” said Shannon Forth Davies, Office Managing Partner for Spencer Fane in Oklahoma City. “Her unique ability to provide both grounded, strategic counsel and innovative solutions will be a marked asset to our growing team.”
With a background in patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution, Elizabeth excels in holistic IP management by collaborating with colleagues to develop global IP and IP-adjacent approaches to strengthen companies’ market positions. She improves the value of technological assets and mitigates risks associated with IP rights, frequently negotiating deals between rights holders and third parties seeking to grant and obtain permission to use protected technology and content. Elizabeth’s dispute experience comprises the full spectrum of IP resolution platforms, including district court litigation, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
An active community member and legal advocate beyond her practice, Elizabeth serves as the president of the board of directors for the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section and as chair of the American Intellectual Property Law Pro Bono Committee. Her work with the U.S Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Pro Bono Program was instrumental in the establishment of Oklahoma City University School of Law as the program’s regional office for Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.
Elizabeth completed her undergraduate degree magna cum laude at Austin College before earning her Juris Doctor summa cum laude at Oklahoma City University School of Law.
