Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce attorneys Larry Roland and Tara Holterhaus have joined the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group in the firm’s Omaha, Nebraska, office.
“As clients in the market continue to experience increased need for legal services, we have responded by adding additional resources to meet this demand,” said Josh Dickinson, Spencer Fane Office Managing Partner in Omaha. “Larry and Tara will be tremendous assets to our collaborative approach to providing highly responsive client service.”
Roland brings diverse capabilities and a versatile base of experience in a variety of industries. While Probate Litigation is Roland’s most expansive practice, he represents corporate and individual clients in various civil litigation matters and handles all aspects of client cases up to and through trial, including interacting with multilayered clients, conducting discovery, taking depositions, drafting and arguing motions, negotiating settlements, preparing legal memoranda, and advocating for clients — at trial and through the appellate process. Before entering private practice, he worked in the financial industry, television and media, food processing, and trucking.
Because of his industry experience, Roland also becomes a valuable asset on labor and employment issues. His work involves advising commercial and nonprofit clients on matters unique to their specific industry. He approaches these matters with the benefit of understanding them from both a business and legal standpoint.
Roland completed his undergraduate studies at Marquette University and later earned an MBA from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and a Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law.
Holterhaus’ practice encompasses many facets of commercial litigation: collections, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, banking and financial services, and alternative dispute resolution. She has specific experience in complex insurance and banking litigation in Nebraska, Iowa, and federal courts, including appearances on behalf of institutional clients in trials and hearings on dispositive motions.
After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa, Holterhaus earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law.
