Spencer Fane attorney Shelby Menard spoke at the Dallas Bar Association (DBA), Energy Law Section Meeting on October 18, which took place at the Arts District Mansion.
During her presentation, Ethical Use of Technology, Shelby discussed why cyber and technology competency is an ethical duty for attorneys. She also outlined the ransomware life cycle process and provided strategies for mitigating cybersecurity risks.
The DBA, founded in 1873, is a voluntary professional association of over 11,000 lawyers. It is dedicated to the continuing education of its members, as well as community programs.
At Spencer Fane, Shelby is a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution and the Data Privacy and Cybersecurity groups in the firm’s Plano office. She assists her clients through the litigation process in a wide range of commercial litigation cases and also regularly coaches businesses through complex data incidents and privacy compliance issues.
