Shawn joined WTW’s Sean Scranton to discuss White Castle’s multibillion-dollar biometrics lawsuit, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)’s new data breach disclosure regulations, and recent cyber insurance trends.
“As we’ve seen some of our ransomware cases go down, we’ve seen our business email compromise and social engineering cases go up … We see more policy denials because of that than we see from anything else,” Shawn said. “Policies are getting more nuanced in describing what’s covered, what’s not, and what controls must be in place from a social engineering standpoint before they even invoke coverage.”
