Spencer Fane is pleased to announce Sadaf Deedar has joined the Intellectual Property Practice Group as an associate in the firm’s Houston office.
Prior to entering private practice, Deedar served as a patent administrator for a technology company specializing in low-cost point-of-care diagnostics and health information. She also completed an internship with a boutique law practice in Atlanta working specifically with patent applications, nondisclosure agreements, and legal research on patent decisions involving artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Deedar’s legal and professional experience informs her approach to handling patent prosecution and litigation, trademark prosecution and litigation, Internet law, trade secrets, and more. Additionally, she has already established herself as a thought leader and frequent author of articles on timely and relevant intellectual property articles.
“Spencer Fane continues to curate a dedicated group of attorneys with a deep understanding of intellectual property law that allows our firm to handle the full range of legal needs for our clients in this area of law,” said Erick Robinson, Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. “Sadaf fits well with our collaborative approach to complex IP matters that guides our commitment to provide efficient and proactive counsel that helps clients achieve their business objectives.”
Deedar completed her undergraduate studies at Emory University in chemistry, obtained a master’s in biology from Georgia State University, and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center. Most recently, she served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Andrew Edison in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas before joining Spencer Fane as a law clerk in early August. She has since earned admission into the State Bar of Texas.
