Robin’s presentation, Financial Crimes Involving Real Estate Transactions and Federal Regulations, was part of the event’s jampacked, three-day agenda for real estate attorneys looking to network and catch up on the latest industry trends and issues. During her CLE, Robin outlined the history and reasoning behind the various anti-money laundering laws and regulations, the role of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) in enforcing those laws and regulations, Geographic Targeting Orders, the Corporate Transparency Act, and upcoming proposed rulemaking that will affect the real estate sector.
Designed to meet the needs of Colorado lawyers, the Colorado Bar Association CLE presents over 100 live programs each year on a wide variety of topic areas, in various locations throughout Colorado. Many of the programs are co-sponsored by the sections and standing committees of the Colorado Bar Association. The Real Estate Symposium was co-sponsored by the organization’s Real Estate Section, of which Robin is a past executive council member and past legislative policy officer.
Robin Nolan is a partner at Spencer Fane and a member of the firm’s real estate practice group, representing clients in transactional matters relating to the development, leasing, acquisition, disposition, and financing of commercial real estate. Robin assists her commercial real estate clients with negotiating and drafting documents for real estate projects from the ground up, including purchase and sale contracts, easements, title review, restrictive covenants, declarations and maintenance agreements, leases, financing documents, and construction contracts. She has authored and lectured on various real estate topics. She currently is co-chair of the Legislative Policy Committee for the Colorado Bar Association.
