Paul Jacobson Explains OSHA’s COVID-19 ETS Issued for the Health Care Industry

August 5, 2021

Spencer Fane attorney Paul Jacobson recently wrote an article featured in the Health Care Compliance Association blog covering the new rules enforced by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for the health care industry.

Titled “OSHA Implements COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standard for Healthcare, Updates COVID-19 Guidance for All Employers,” the article discusses the Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) that OSHA implemented to protect health care professionals from job-related COVID-19 exposure.

Paul describes how these regulations may impact health care workers, including safety measures, potential legal implications, and exemptions.

“The ETS now requires covered healthcare employers to develop and implement a COVID-19 plan to identify and control COVID-19 hazards in the workplace,” Paul explained in the article. “Covered employers must also implement other measures to reduce transmission of COVID-19 in their workplaces.”
