Spencer Fane is pleased to announce Chair and Managing Partner Pat Whalen and Kansas City Managing Partner Julia Vander Weele have been included among the city’s top business leaders in the 2022 Ingram’s 250: The Elite of Kansas City Business, an annual list of the most influential leaders in the Kansas City region.
The list reflects the magazine’s selection of the 250 most prominent, influential, and powerful business leaders throughout the Kansas City area. Those highlighted on the list have worked to shape and direct the Kansas City metropolitan business community through decisive leadership and vision, Ingram’s reports.
“At one of the region’s biggest law firms, long-time chairman Pat Whalen continues to exert an outsized influence on the business community and civic life in Kansas City – he’s that engaged,” Ingram’s wrote in its profile.
Under Pat’s direction, Spencer Fane has experienced accelerated growth and established a national presence in the legal industry; in fact, the firm has been recognized as one of the fastest growing in the nation among its peers on the AmLaw 200 ranking of largest law firms in the United States.
Meanwhile, Julia leads the firm’s Kansas City office, which is home to more than 50 of the firm’s attorneys, while also managing an active practice in which she advises clients in the areas of employer health and welfare plans and retirement plans. Among other things, she’s focused on protecting the firm’s culture of humility, collaboration, and inclusivity.
“Our culture has always been important to us, and the pandemic just enhanced our commitment to preserving it,” Julia told Ingram’s magazine.
