Millan Strengthens Business Transactions Group at Spencer Fane in Phoenix

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Jaime Millan has joined the Corporate and Business Transactions practice group as a Mexican Foreign Legal Consultant in the firm’s Phoenix office.

Millan has more than 15 years of experience in corporate, transactional, foreign investment, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, mining, and tax matters. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he represents and advises national and foreign clients from the largest multinational entities to medium and small companies, both in Mexico and in the United States, as a Mexican Foreign Legal Consultant.

Specifically, Millan’s experience includes negotiations and implementation of corporate and asset restructures, as well as mergers and acquisitions of domestic and foreign companies across a wide spectrum of sectors and industries. Additionally, he regularly works with clients in real estate and construction matters, advising on the acquisition, sale, and lease of real estate through various legal and financial mechanisms.

In addition to experience in private practice, Millan also previously served as chief executive coordinator of legal studies for the Governor’s Office in the State of Sonora, Mexico. He provided legal advice and assistance to government officials in matters of administrative law and drafted legislation and regulations in various areas of state law.

Millan earned his Licenciatura en Derecho (law degree) from the Universidad del Noroeste in Mexico and later earned a Grado de Maestría (master’s degree) in Business Law from the Universidad de Monterrey in Mexico. He also has an LLM in corporate law from Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law.
