Spencer Fane attorney Loren Mulraine presented at the Nashville Bar Association’s Annual Entertainment, Sports & Media Law Institute on December 6.
This all-day CLE event featured several sessions on significant entertainment law-related topics, including intellectual property, sports, creative arts, and technology developments. Loren’s presentation, Termination of Copyright Transfer Under 17 USC § 203, explored challenges related to Section 203 of the Copyright Act. He discussed issues related to the statute’s notice requirement, five-year window, and loopholes for loan-out companies and works for hire.
At the firm, Loren’s understanding of the creative elements of the entertainment and media industries merges with his extensive legal skills to protect his clients’ intellectual property, build their business enterprises, and advocate for social justice. He has represented Grammy, Dove, and Stellar award winners; gold-, platinum-, and multiplatinum-selling artists; and professionals in the music, media, film/TV, theater, and sports industries. Loren is also a professor and director of Music and Entertainment Law Studies at Belmont University College of Law.
