Spencer Fane attorney and firm General Counsel Leslie Greathouse was recently recognized as a 2024 Influential Lawyer by Missouri Lawyers Media (MLM) for her work in helping the Kansas branch of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) advocate for Fourth Amendment rights in a Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) case.
Per MLM, the award was granted to “newsmaker” Missouri lawyers who made substantial contributions to the legal community, an honor Leslie solidified following the federal court ruling against the KHP. Leslie brought the case to the firm and worked with a team of Spencer Fane attorneys to secure three victories against the agency for using routine traffic stops of out-of-state motorists to initiate invasive, illegal vehicle searches.
In addition to her Influential Lawyer award, MLM highlighted Leslie’s 2020 Women’s Justice Corporate Award and impressive work as general counsel for the almost 900 employees and staff who work for Spencer Fane.
Leslie was formally recognized alongside fellow Spencer Fane MLM honorees Jessica Merrigan and Kersten Holzhueter at a February 15 awards ceremony at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis. Spencer Fane was notably the only firm with more than two honorees.
