Spencer Fane attorney Jim Price presented the latest developments on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at The Regulatory Environmental Group for Missouri (REGFORM)’s Missouri Hazardous Waste Seminar on April 2 in Columbia, Missouri. The firm also served as a sponsor of the event.
During his panel presentation, PFAS Current Status, Jim outlined the ever-evolving standards, approaches, test methods, state laws, and treatment/destruction technologies (and their marketing apparatuses) for PFAS. He also explained the provisions that impact waste generators and remediation site owners. Jim concluded his presentation by discussing how to understand hazardous substance vs. hazardous constituents.
The one-day seminar provided an overview of the latest information on the new federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) rules adopted in Missouri, opportunities under the new aerosol cans rule, and developing a quick reference guide. The REGFORM-hosted event focused on a wide range of issues facing permitted generators and site owners.
At the firm, Jim serves as co-chair of the Environmental Law practice group and concentrates his practice on environmental regulation and compliance, environmental litigation, toxic torts, and business transactions involving environmental issues.
