Spencer Fane attorney Jeremy Rucker presented on the current state of cybersecurity in the health care field and preventing future cyberattacks at 2022 Tri-State Cancer Summit, an annual conference hosted by the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC), on May 21.
During his presentation, Cyber Attack: How to Protect Your Center, Jeremy provided an overview of various types of cyberattacks, specifically looking at ransomware – the common causes, the impact, and the overall timelines. He shared best practices for protecting medical practices, creating a cyber incident response plan, and building an incident response team.
