James Crumlin to Co-Host Nashville Black 40 Under 40 Awards

February 3, 2025

Spencer Fane is pleased to announce attorney and DEI Committee Chair James Crumlin is the 2024-2025 Executive Chair for the annual Nashville Black 40 Under 40 Awards. He will cohost the event on February 23.

This year’s event – Past, Present, and Future – will proudly celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Nashville Black 40 Under 40. As the only platform in Tennessee dedicated to honoring Black professionals under 40, this program has recognized over 400 trailblazers across law, medicine, real estate, hospitality, finance, entrepreneurship, and more industries. In addition to honoring Middle Tennessee’s most influential millennials shaping the future through their excellence, the awards reception will share a portion of its proceeds with its nonprofit partner, Village Kulture.

At the firm, James helps clients navigate the corporate legal landscape and avoid costly mistakes, so employers can focus on running successful operations. As Chair of the firm’s DEI Committee, he also works in tandem with other firm leadership to build, maintain, and leverage a diverse and inclusive law firm through robust efforts that earned him a Law Firm Ally of the Year recognition at the 2024 Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards.

James is also an active member of his local community. He founded Nashville’s Capitol Steps Workout and fervently supports several organizations, such as the Leadership Nashville Foundation, American Baptist College, YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee, S3 Recycling Solutions, Leadership Middle Tennessee, and many more.
