Jack Amaral Strengthens Spencer Fane Business Transactions Group in Minneapolis

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Jack Amaral has joined the Corporate and Business Transactions Practice Group as an associate in the firm’s Minneapolis office.

With a passion for entrepreneurship, Amaral’s private practice focuses on providing responsive day-to-day legal advice on all aspects of corporate operations critical to success for clients of all sizes. He brings a strong understanding of legal matters related to general corporate and partnership law; acquisition, disposition, merger, and reorganization transactions; commercial and contract law; federal and state taxation; securities law; business workouts, creditors’ rights, and bankruptcy proceedings; and other areas of business-related law.

Most recently, Amaral served as a law clerk and legal extern for a cybersecurity firm, where he analyzed potential acquisitions and assisted the firm’s CFO in determining the company’s valuation for venture capital investors based on in-depth analysis of financial statements. He also collaborated with the legal team on creating an end user agreement incorporating flow-through language of current licensing agreements.

Amaral also owns certifications in blockchain basics, cryptocurrency foundations, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Essential Training, Finance Foundations: Corporate Governance, and GDPR Compliance: Essential Training. He completed his undergraduate studies in biology and communication at St. Olaf College and later earned his Juris Doctor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law.

While in law school, Amaral spent time as a graduate research assistant, compiling materials for use in an employment success model for law school students and planning and editing Professional Responsibility curriculum. He also served a stint as a student trademark attorney with a law firm, gaining valuable experience in intellectual property law.
