Financial Services Attorney Joins Spencer Fane in Minneapolis

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Kirstin D. Kanski joined the firm’s Minneapolis office as an of counsel attorney in the Banking and Financial Services practice group.

Kirstin maintains a comprehensive banking and financial services practice in which she counsels financial institutions in bank regulatory matters, including enterprise risk management, corporate governance, charters and activities, consumer compliance, regulatory applications, exams, enforcement actions, and remediation. An experienced litigator, she also advises her clients through consumer and commercial defaults, consumer and complex fraud matters, insolvency proceedings, regulatory investigations, and litigation.

Notably, Kirstin has served as senior counsel and vice president to one of the largest American multinational financial services companies and most recently served as senior counsel to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.

Beyond her private practice, Kirstin serves as adjunct faculty at the University of St. Thomas Law School, teaching banking law, financial regulation, and Article 2 Sales. She completed her undergraduate degree at North Dakota State University before earning her Juris Doctor summa cum laude at the William Mitchell College of Law, now the Mitchell Hamline College of Law.
