Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to welcome John T. Torrenti to the firm’s St. Louis office as a partner in the Corporate and Business Transactions practice group.
John helps businesses and individuals effectively navigate domestic and international transactions by providing detail-oriented guidance on federal and state tax laws, general corporate and regulatory considerations, and overall objectives to structure effective and value-oriented transactions.
Supported by extensive experience with both federal and state tax matters, John meets clients at key intersections of strategic financing and regulatory alignment. He assists both buyers and sellers in connection with private company mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. He also provides counsel to institutional investors and private equity, venture capital, and hedge funds, representing funds throughout their lifecycles.
Following a long-term legal career in New York and Connecticut, John enters the St. Louis market amid steady growth at Spencer Fane in both established and emerging offices, now totaling 30 locations nationwide.

After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University, John earned his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis.
