Spencer Fane attorney Colten Jones was recently honored by renowned Tennessee publication The Tennessean as 2023 Coach of the Year for All Midstate High School Boys’ Tennis Teams.
The article details Colten’s success this season as the head boys’ tennis coach at Merrol Hyde Magnet School in Hendersonville. With Merrol Hyde “never dropping a [match] during the tournament,” Colten “guided [the school] to the Class A state team championship.” This is the third straight state championship that Colten has helped his players secure.
At Spencer Fane, Colten works in the litigation and dispute resolution practice group where he helps clients navigate the litigation process, but also looks for win-win opportunities to achieve client goals and salvage relationships when possible. In addition to civil litigation, Colten’s practice also includes business law, property law, estate planning, and probate. Like many Spencer Fane attorneys, he is also an active leader in his community. In addition to coaching at Merrol Hyde, he is Board Secretary at local non-profit Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center, which is one of middle Tennessee’s premier arts organizations and a hub for arts education and outreach.
