Christine Chasse Talks Health Care AI and Law on Blak Cyber Podcast

September 2, 2025

Spencer Fane attorney Christine Chasse was invited to be the featured guest on an episode of the Blak Cyber podcast, a resource in the education, advancement, and visibility of African American Cybersecurity professionals worldwide.

In the episode, Christine covers why she pursued Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) certification including wanting to expand her knowledge in the AIGP space to provide the best practice and insights for her clients. She discusses how health care and AI relate. She also offered advice for anyone seeking to be a lawyer.

“Health care is the number one industry that does get hacked in cybersecurity attacks,” Christine said. “[If you are interested] in data privacy, cybersecurity, or any of the tech fields, [look for someone] who’s a thought leader in the space and who is willing to teach you,” While adding that law school does not necessarily “teach” the law. She credits partner Shawn Tuma for teaching her about technology law.

At the firm, Christine maintains a dual-focused practice at the intersection of cybersecurity and health care, advising clients on emerging legal risks while providing pragmatic, business-forward guidance. She supports a range of clients – from health systems to technology providers – in navigating complex regulatory frameworks, responding to high-stakes incidents, and structuring effective litigation strategies. Christine’s clients benefit from her nuanced understanding of both the legal landscape and the day-to-day realities of working within a health care organization. She is a registered nurse and lawyer, and the first and only AIGP certified attorney at Spencer Fane. The AIGP is a certification validating the expertise of professionals overseeing AI systems that are trustworthy, transparent, and compliant with laws and regulations.
