Spencer Fane attorneys Brian Bear and DJ Pierre will present on “Effective Advocacy Before Public Finance Bodies in the Era of COVID-19” discussing the priorities facing the key development bodies in Kansas City.
In addition to their work as attorneys, Brian and DJ both bring extensive experience in government. Brian served as the former General Counsel to the Missouri Department of Economic Development, the State of Missouri’s primary executive agency responsible for overseeing development incentives, community development, and business recruitment.
DJ currently serves as Chair on the Central City Economic Development Sales Tax Board, a development body that provides recommendations for spending a special development tax in a portion of Kansas City. He is also a Commissioner on Kansas City’s Environmental Management Commission.
Brian and DJ will be joined by co-presenters Phil Glynn, Chair of PortKC, and Tom Porto, Chair of Kansas City’s Planned Industrial Expansion Authority.
