Ben Shantz Discusses Law Day Celebration on KSMU

July 16, 2021

Spencer Fane attorney Ben Shantz was recently interviewed by KSMU Ozarks Public Radio where he discussed the history of Law Day and the annual celebration hosted by the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association (SMBA).

“Each year the United States celebrates Law Day, which is a day, set aside back in the 1950s, to celebrate our system of laws and our system of ordered liberty,” Ben explained.

As the Law Day Chair at the SMBA, Ben leads the Committee in planning and executing the annual Law Day Celebration, which was observed throughout the spring. The 2021 event theme was Advancing the Rule of Law Now, which “refers broadly to the efforts all of us should take to promote the rule of law.”

Ben goes on to explain how public participation was encouraged, noting the educational contests and programs for elementary school students and a mail art campaign that took place.
