Spencer Fane attorneys Michelle Berger and Dani Kaiser presented at the September 15-17 Special District Association of Colorado’s Annual Conference in Keystone.
An educational and networking event for special district board members, staff, and industry professionals, the conference featured numerous CLE sessions on a variety of topics. Michelle and Dani led Title 32 Special Districts and Construction Project Delivery Methods: Legal and Engineering Perspectives of the Pros and Cons of Common Project Delivery Methods as They Work for Your District. This presentation compared Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and CMGC as project delivery methods and low bid, best value bid, and cost plus to guaranteed maximum price as contract procurement methods. The duo provided best practices for ensuring each approach is properly included in a construction contract to meet the needs and address the risks of Special Districts.
Spencer Fane also served as a Grab-and-Go lunch sponsor for the event.
At the firm, Michelle leads the Land Use and Construction Industry Market Teams as a member of the Real Estate Practice Group, and Dani represents Title 32 districts and is a member of the Special Districts Practice Group.
