Spencer Fane attorneys Shawn Tuma and Christine Chasse are faculty speakers for the D.C. Bar’s September 17 program, Conducting an Artificial Intelligence/Cyber Security Audit – Assessments and Key Considerations.
This two-hour webinar will provide a detailed overview of the risks associated with the growing use of AI tools and automated computer systems, including potential privacy leaks, confidentiality issues, hallucinations, operational compliance errors, diminished team critical thinking, and other inaccurate information risks. Shawn, Christine, and their fellow speakers – Dr. Bishnu Sarker (University of North Texas) and Stephanie Spaulding (Synova) – will discuss the hazards of inputting proprietary code or sensitive corporate data into unvetted public AI tools, proper assessment of organizational practices, and the ins and outs of conducting an effective AI and cybersecurity audit.
At the firm, Shawn co-leads the firm’s Cyber | Data | Artificial Intelligence | Emerging Technology Practice Group while serving as Office Managing Partner for the firm’s Plano location. In addition to these leadership roles, he maintains a robust law practice that helps businesses protect their information and protect themselves from their information. Christine maintains a dual-focused practice at the intersection of cybersecurity and health care, advising clients on emerging legal risks while providing pragmatic, business-forward guidance. She supports a range of clients – from health systems to technology providers – in navigating complex regulatory frameworks, responding to high-stakes incidents, and structuring effective litigation strategies.
