June 5, 2023

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce that Brian Medich joined the Intellectual Property Practice Group as a senior associate in the firm’s Houston office.

Brian regularly handles complex matters involving patent, trademark, copyright, and contractual disputes, providing proactive counsel to protect and maximize value through the full life cycle of products, services, and ideas. He brings proven experience with large corporations with expansive IP portfolios in addition to individual inventors and entrepreneurs.

Through a focus on building a mutual understanding of a business and the protectable scope of all intellectual property, Brian simultaneously works to avoid unnecessary litigation while utilizing enforcement actions, when necessary, to defend clients against infringers and competitors.

“We continue to seek out and cultivate a unique and beneficial blend of legal professionals who combine legal acumen with industry knowledge,” said Erick Robinson, Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property practice group at Spencer Fane. “Clients come to Spencer Fane with an expectation of not only translating creativity and innovation into marketable products and services but also to see the full benefit of their work. Brian adds to our ability to provide the collaborative responsive legal services critical to our success.”

Brian completed his undergraduate studies at American University and later earned his Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School. During law school, he clerked for the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender, building on governmental experience he gained interning with the United States House of Representatives, including a stint with the House Budget Committee.
